Soaring to New Heights: Supercool Studio's Project with Air Bali

Have you ever flown in a helicopter before? We had the incredible opportunity thanks to Air Bali. They asked us to do their latest photo and video campaign, so we got to fly high with Bali’s first and most secure helicopter tour company. And the result was a breathtaking rebranding campaign that captured the essence of Air Bali’s luxury.

How It All Started

This exciting collaboration sprouted from the close-knit French community in Bali. Brice, a familiar face of the studio, approached Supercool Studio to propose the project. We’ve had several successful projects prior, so, he knew what we could do. He told us about Air Bali's desire to rebrand and focus on their VIP services and how he thought that their aim aligned seamlessly with Supercool Studio's professional capabilities. From that point forward, the collaboration began!

The Collaborative Process

At the core of the collaboration was a rebranding campaign with captivating video and photography. Led by our creative instincts, we diligently followed the brief and moodboard provided by the client and an added Supercool touch.
Flying high (metaphorically and literally), the collaborative process involved intricate planning and coordination. The day before the shoot, we did a pre-production meeting with the security, owners, production team and pilots. We also had a security meeting on D-day at five in the morning to ensure all the security processes were in order.

Two helicopters, a rescue and a VIP helicopter, soared across the skies of Bali, dropped the team at the breathtaking Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida. Drones captured the awe-inspiring visuals, pushing the boundaries of creativity. However, the collaborative process wasn't without challenges; the team faced risks associated with aerial shooting (hence, the rigorous security measures).

Afterward, we flew to Mount Batur with the models and took some shots during the flight. Then, we went to Viceroy Bali and their Apéritif Restaurant to finish the shoot with a last scene including the couple toasting champagne at the restaurant. On the way back, we flew from Ubud to Benoa and took an eagle-eye shot of the view. At the end of the day, it was a wonderful shoot!

Unique Selling Points

What set this collaboration apart was the real challenge it presented. The high cost demanded efficient time and space management, making it a test of our adaptability and creativity in tight spaces.

BTS Stories

Every project has its moments, and this collaboration was no exception. The fear of flying in a helicopter for the first time was through the roof for us, but we were excited nevertheless! Rizky, our videographer, was visibly stressed out during the shoot. Moreover, arriving at locations via helicopter drew the attention of the people around, and needless to say, we enjoyed it very much.

Impact and Future Collaborations

As the campaign unfolds, we are very proud to leave a lasting positive impact on Air Bali's brand image. The visual assets created during this collaboration are poised to grace catalogs, PR materials, and marketing communications, ensuring a strong and enduring presence for the client in the years to come.

Cheers!
